Large Number Framelits from Occasions Catalogue

The Large Number Framelits is another must have from the Occasions Catalogue. We all need numbers in our life, don't you think? :-) The first time I made my own planner was in 2013, and I loved loved loved it. For the last couple of years, after I have eventually transitioned to owning and using a smartphone, I guess you could say I became a digital planner. But I missed my paper planner. I found myself still reaching out for a piece of scrap paper - any piece of scrap I can find! - and pen to make a to do list from time to time, usually immediately followed by a sense of being in control. So I decided I need a planner this year. I just love paper too much, and making your own planner is a great excuse to buy and use pretty paper. Well, in my case, to use some of the papers I have in my collection! Besides the kind of bought planners I seem to be drawn to are spendy, easily carrying a price tag of $50 upwards. Making my own with what I already have seems like a very sen

Wildflower Fields For My Neighbour

I am not sure how I feel about Facebook but I do like the fact that it notifies me when it is is my FB friends' birthday! Well, turned out that it was my neighbour's birthday yesterday, and I wished her Happy Birthday online, but that seemed to me to be so unfriendly because, well, you know, she is my neighbour!! So glad that I am in the business of card making and have all the supplies I need to make a card and a gift box to take to her and wish her Happy Birthday in person -with a hug. When you are pressed for time yet you want to create something beautiful, you can't go wrong with beautiful patterned paper from Stampin' Up!'s range of Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I can highly recommend the Wildflower Fields DSP, which is yours for FREE during Sale-a-bration time, when you spend $110. I am so happy to finally make one of these endlessly popular self closing boxes. It is honestly such a cool little box that has a generous capacity, room for all thos

Rose Wonder Creative Inkers Team Swap

This is the card I made for the Card Swap last month at our team's Christmas Breakfast. As demonstrators, we were able to pre-order products that are in the new Occasions catalogue, and the great thing about participating in a card swap is that I just have to make multiples of one design, in this case, 18 cards but in return I get 18 different cards back from all the other 18 participants in the card swap. What a deal! Well, I chose to feature the Rose Wonder stamp set, combined with two of my favourite techniques - emboss resist and sponging. I heat emboss the rose image in white and then I use the sponge to colour the background of the card. The colours I used were Elegant Eggplant, Tempting Turquoise and Lost Lagoon. Can you see that glimmer? That is from the "Wink of Stella Brushes" - a must have item, I reckon. Actually, there is a third technique I used - after I have sponged the colours on, I actually spritz the card with water to create a semi watercolour

Rose Garden BatMitzvah

Happy New Year! Well, my family was supposed to be on our way to our annual camping holiday today, but the weather here ain’t conducive to putting up a tent so our trip has been delayed which means I now have a moment to blog a post or two! This card was made for our friend's 12 year old's Bat Mitzvah celebration last month. I have used a water colouring technique for the background and then layered the Rose Garden die cut (a sneak peek from the 2016 Occasions Catalogue), cut out in another sneak peek Blushing Bride Glimmer Paper. These were both my top picks from this scrumptious catalogue, and so were the first things in my pre-order (which is a Stampin' Up! demo perk i.e. we are the first ones to get to order these products before they are launched). Well, you won't have to wait too much longer now...the Occasions Catalogue begins on 5th January! Not only does the Occasions Catalogue launch on 5th January, it is also the beginning of our biggest, most anticip
