Reason for the Season Blitz #3

Today's post is third in the Reason for the Season series (see the first one here and the second one here ). The three step stamping makes it easy to create this wonderful water coloured look in a snap. And oh, I just love love love the font of that classic sentiment. A bit of glimmer paper adds some festive bling to the card, and I went a bit wonky-lumpus with the glimmer paper just to add some whimsicalness to the card. (Maybe I have been reading too much Dr. Seuss books to be making up silly words, lol!) Ok, let's go for the traditional straight border look. Simple and classic. But...just one more wonkyliciousness! Happy 3rd day of Christmas

Reason for the Season Blitz #2

One of my favourite stamp sets (and bundle of stamps and punch) from the 2015 Holiday Catalogue. This is one of my go-to sketch for any cards - just a strip of DSP to the left of the card brightens up the white whisper white card base. Here I have embellished it with the poinsettia flower (made with the Festive Flower Builder punch) taking focus on the card. A bit of gold cording always makes things look so festive - love it! More posts coming to show off this stamp set again :-) Happy 2nd day of Christmas!

Reason For The Season

Possibly my favourite Christmas stamp set from 2015 Holiday Catalogue, Reason for the Season has beautiful images as well as three classic sentiments. I love the font used in the sentiments - it seems so nostalgic. I feel so satisfied every time I lift the stamp off the paper. Here are a couple of cards I have made, pairing the stamp set with the Season of Cheer Designer Series Paper (DSP). Now that we are approaching Christmas Day, all my card recipients should have received their cards; so there will be a blitz of posts showing off some of the cards I have made with this stamp set. Some didn't get photographed before I posted it. Even though it is now too late to make Christmas cards for this year, this stamp set will carry over to the end of May 2016, so be sure to get yourself this versatile set and get your 2016 Christmas cards started ;-) I will be most happy to order it for you. Happy Christmas Eve!

Mini Catalogue Upcycle

In my previous post , I showed you one way of using the 3D stars made out of pretty designer papers, i.e. string them up into a banner/bunting. Today, I have used the smallest star (made with 2 pieces of  3"x3" Winter Wonderland DSP) as a tree topper on a....upcycled mini catalogue tree! Wind a battery operated seed string light around the tree and you got a pretty unique decor piece for the home. It would also make for a fun gift to the wonderful person in your life hosting the Christmas dinner or to the host of any Christmas parties you will be going to. Since this is a up cycling project using the Stampin' Up! mini catalogues when it has retired, here's a blast from the past post of another up cycling project which you may have missed ;-)

3D Stars

These 3D stars are easy and fun to make and just add to the home Christmas decor. Here I have made them in 3 different sizes, using various Designer Series Paper (DSP). Would you believe it that all the 3 different sized stars can be made from one 12"x12" sheet of DSP? That makes for a very cost effective craft project! Can you spot the black and gold stars, made with one sheet from the Winter Wonderland Specialty Designer Series Paper? This paper pack with 12 sheets is currently discounted to only $16.65 - an incredibly awesome deal! When Christmas is over, the stars made with this set of paper could be re-used for other occasions - birthday (especially a significant one, since the gold makes it so special), wedding, anniversary. Just email me if you want to place an order for it. Below is a closer look at the biggest star made from 2 pieces of 6"x6" paper. This one was made with the Holidays Fancy Foil Designer Vellum, currently discounted to $14.10.

Project Life Hello December 2015 Collection

I joined up Creating For Christ with Ronda and Julie this December month to study the names of Jesus. Ronda designed the album using Stampin' Up!'s Hello December 2015 Project Life Card Collection and Accessory Pack, so all I have to do was get these supplies along with a Kraft 6" x 8" Project Life Album and the Variety Photo Pockets pack, put the album together and then start journalling - easy as! So Day 1's entry looks like this (yep, it's a family affair, lol!): I love how simple it was to put the album together based on Rhonda's design.  Of course, if your creativity mojo is in high gear, then you can also go on ahead to design the album yourself.  Here's an example of the double page featured in the Holiday Catalogue: Ain't the accessories looking like fun?!?  Check out SU's video clip: If you want to re-create this album, just email me, I'd love to be your demonstrator :-) Happy St

Cute Purse with 2015 -17 In Colour A4 Card Stock and Envelope Paper

Today, at my monthly Mum & Me class, we made these lovely, quite classical, mini purses. I presented the purses in the array of colours that are Stampin' Up!'s In Colours for 2015-17. Beginning from the left is Cucumber Crush, Tip Top Taupe, Watermelon Wonder, Mint Macaron, and lastly on the right, Delightful Dijon. Have you got a favourite In-Colour? Well, my choice would be Tip Top Taupe if I am looking for an exciting and new Neutral other than Black, White or Crumb Cake (all of which are my go to's so sometimes I feel I may have overdone those). But in this case, what with all the purses before my eyes, I am just loving the Mint Macaron with a hint of Tip Top Taupe: The stripes pattern pieces are from the Envelope Paper (#138312) and the Taupe pieces have been embossed with the Decorative Dots Embossing Folder (#133520). The flowers are made with the oldie but a goodie Scallop Circle 1-3/4" punch (#119854) - punch out six of these scallop circles,

Remarkable You with Neutral DSP Stack and Petite Petal Punch

Quick and Easy card using discarded pieces from various projects. This card is all about layers - and shapes (we got a circle, a banner, a square frame, and some flowers). It took quite a bit of deliberation as to what colour the mat should be. In the end I decided that either Crushed Curry or Tangerine Tango and even  a Pear Pizzazz mat would take the focus off the "daffodil". So I settled on using Crumb Cake as the sentiment was stamped with Crumb Cake. What do you think? The sentiment by the way is from the Remarkable You stamp set which is on special this week .  Until Tuesday 29th September, it is only $40.50 for the Clear Mount set.  Thanks again for visiting my blog, and until next time, Happy Stampin'! Blessings,  Michelle xx

Adventure Awaits in a Gift Bag

This project is an oldie but a goodie! Often patterned papers, lovely as they are, play only a supporting role in a project. Not this time. This project allows Stampin' Up! Designer Series Paper (DSP), which are double sided, to take centre stage and shine. I have used two of the awesome 12"x12" papers from the Schoolhouse DSP, and with a few score lines and a few cuts, fold, glue and hey presto! A beautiful gift bag that can be personalised and embellished or left as is, cute and fun. The project might be an oldie, but it remains new and current because of the fabulous DSPs that SU brings out year upon year. Here are the three whipped up and filled with NZ iconic snacks for our UK bound friends' kids. Everyone needs a goodie treat bag for a long plane trip. They won't be back for a year, hence the iconic Kiwi snacks which in this case included Chocolate Fish, K Bar, Whittaker's L&P Chocolate and Chicken Flavoured potato crisps. What would YOU put i

Timeless Love Note Card

I just love this sentiment from the Timeless Love stamp set. So many people come to mind. And the font, oh...well, Stampin Up! has nailed it by naming it Timeless Love. It will be timeless! If only this set comes in photopolymer stamps. But never fear, Stamp-ma-jig (SMJ) to the rescue! I used the SMJ to line up the half garland of flowers, sprinkle on the white emboss powder, and then embossed it with the Big Shot. I then repeat the process stamping the other half of the wreath arrangement. I then sponged the card in order to bring out the white outline of the flower garland. The colours I used for the card above is Blushing Bride, Pool Party and So Saffron. If the card size seems a little smaller, that is because it is :-)  The white notecard came in a pack of 20 notecards and 20 envelopes, and the card comes already scored! Here's a version sponged in brighter colours (Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise, Daffodil Delight): And here is a snapshot of the matching set t
